Aphipar-M employs a unique and natural method to control aphid populations. Adult female parasitic wasps are the key agents in this process. These wasps lay their eggs parasitically inside the aphids. As the eggs develop, the aphids swell and eventually harden into leathery, grey/brown mummies.

After about 10-14 days, the first adult parasitic wasps emerge from these mummies through a round hole at the rear. This cycle continues, with the newly emerged wasps seeking out and parasitizing more aphids, thus helping to control the aphid population in an environmentally friendly manner.

Description

Aphipar-M is a specialized biological control agent designed to effectively manage tobacco aphid (Myzus persicae nicotianae), peach potato aphid (Myzus persicae), and, to some extent, cotton aphids. This product is available in easy-to-use formulations, making it an ideal choice for greenhouse and indoor cultivation.

To apply Aphipar-M, simply spread the material on rock wool slabs or in application boxes (Dibox). It is crucial to ensure that the material remains dry and is not disturbed from its introduction site for several days to allow the beneficial organisms to establish themselves and target the aphid populations effectively. Additionally, the peel-off label provided can be used to mark the areas where the product has been applied, aiding in monitoring and management efforts.

Storage and transport of Aphipar-M should be done with care. The product should be kept out of direct sunlight and stored at a temperature between 43-50°F to maintain its viability. It is recommended to use Aphipar-M within 18 hours of receipt to ensure maximum efficacy.

By incorporating Aphipar-M into your pest management strategy, you can effectively control aphid populations in your crops while reducing the reliance on chemical pesticides. This approach promotes a healthier growing environment and improves overall crop yield and quality.
