Description
Application of Natupol Excel Start-Up involves several key steps to ensure optimal bumblebee activity and performance in the greenhouse:
- Distribution of Hives: Place the Natupol hives evenly along the main path of the greenhouse. Ensure they are positioned on a horizontal platform to avoid inclination, which can lead to the leaking of sugar water.
- Summer Positioning: During the summer, position the hive about 20-60 cm above the ground on the south side of a path to maximize shade from the crop. Additional shading may be necessary in some cases.
- Winter Positioning: In winter, position the hive near the top of plants on the north side of the main path. Ensure the hive is exposed to the first daylight.
- Wait Time: Wait at least 15 minutes after positioning the hives before opening the hive entrance. This allows the bumblebee colonies to settle down.
Best Working Conditions:
- Natupol performs best at ambient temperatures between 10-30°C.
Handling:
- Each hive contains food to keep the bumblebees in good condition during transport and storage.
- Start using the hive on the day of arrival for optimal pollination results.
- Maintain bumblebees at a temperature between 15-25°C and avoid direct sunlight on the hive.
Special Points of Attention:
- Ensure hives and entrances are well visible for easy navigation by bumblebees.
- Place no more than two hives next to or close to each other to reduce the drift of bumblebees.
- Provide shade in warm conditions to prevent overheating of the hive.
Attention:
- Natupol Bumblebee hives contain a "Bee Happy" nectar bag that must be uncapped before releasing the bumblebees. If left capped, the hive will not develop properly.
- To uncap the "Bee Happy" bag, follow the provided steps carefully.
