Description
These pre-poured agar slants are for long-term storage of mushroom cultures. Each slant contains approximately 10 ml of pre-sterilized potato dextrose agar (PDA) or malt extract agar (MEA) in a 15 ml polypropylene tube.
Storing unused slants:
Store your unused slants upright in a cool location. In the absence of a refrigerator, store them in a cold room. Check for condensation from time to time. Condensation means there is a heat source driving out water from the agar, which will dry it out quickly. Use within 1 year of receipt.
Usage Tips:
- Use aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to minimize the risk of contamination.
- Label each agar slant with the date and strain to track culture age and identity.
- Monitor growth progress regularly and transfer actively growing mycelium to fresh agar slants or other substrates as needed.
- Refer to mushroom cultivation guides or consult with experts for best practices and troubleshooting tips.
- Allow your agar slant to equilibrate at room temperature before use. Then, in a sterile environment, transfer mycelium from a plate into slant. Store in the refrigerator for up to a year.
