Tender and sweet, the Bull's Blood Microgreen beets have a beautiful red-purple color and are delicious and crunchy. They are a source of Vitamin C and are an antioxidant. Select a sunny, well-drained location and sow seed as soon as the ground can be worked. Repeat at 3 week intervals until late summer. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and smooth with rake. Great in containers and sunny flower beds. Firm soil over seed. Keep soil moist, weed free, and apply vegetable food every 4 weeks. Pull individual plants when roots are about 3 in./8 cm. across.
