Description
Wetsel Seedâ„¢ White Detroit Beet Seed
2g Packet
Known as sugar beets, this variety plant produces good yields of large, consistent, sweet, white beets. Preferred by many for not leaving the inconvenient "red stain" of its counterparts, these beets are great for salads and other culinary uses.
Select sunny, well-drained location and sow seed as soon as the ground can be worked. Repeat at 3 week intervals until late summer. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and smooth with rake. Great in containers and sunny flower beds. Firm soil over seed. Keep soil moist, weed free, and apply vegetable food every 4 weeks. Pull individual plants when roots are about 2 in./5 cm. across.
