An outstanding prolific summer vegetable that is easy to grow. Tender and attractive fruits are produced all summer long and are best when picked young and immature. Delicious uncooked; or fried, steamed, baked, boiled and when used in a variety of recipes. Can be frozen for use later.
Select a sunny location and sow in late spring after soil warms. Cultivate soil and enrich with vegetable food and organic matter. Firm soil over the seeds. Keep soil moist and fertilize monthly. Don't worry when first blossoms fail to set fruit. Pick continuously to assure steady supply. Best when fruits are 4-6 in. long and skin is tender and easily punctured.
