Select a sunny location, cultivate soil, and plant in early spring as soon as soil can be worked. Continue planting at two week intervals until early summer. Start successive plantings again in late summer. Firm soil over seed. Keep soil moist, weed free, and apply vegetable food every 4 weeks. Pick outer greens when the plants are young. Begin pulling roots when they reach 2 in. in diameter.
