Amblyseius cucumeris, a predatory mite, is an integral part of thrips control strategies due to its unique feeding habits and life cycle synchronization with pests.

The formulation of Amblyseius cucumeris is meticulously crafted to ensure a steady release of these predatory mites onto the crop each day. This strategic release pattern maximizes their impact on thrips populations.

With a total development time of 6-9 days at 75°F, the life cycle of Amblyseius cucumeris aligns well with that of Western Flower Thrips, ensuring effective control throughout the thrips' development stages.

Description

Amblyseius cucumeris is a predatory mite known for its effectiveness in controlling thrips larvae. It also preys on broad mites, cyclamen mites, and to a lesser extent, spider mites. This predatory mite is particularly cost-effective, making it a highly attractive option for thrips control in operations where temperatures remain below 85°F. Each sachet contains an average of 100 mites.

How It Works:

The formulation of Amblyseius cucumeris is designed to increase the number of predatory mites released onto the crop daily. These mites have a total development time of 6-9 days at 75°F, aligning well with the lifecycle of Western Flower Thrips, a common pest. The optimal temperature range for Amblyseius cucumeris is 66-80°F, with humidity levels between 65%-75%. These beneficial mites primarily feed on the first larval stage (L1) of thrips and are not effective against larger larvae or adults.

Instructions for Sachets:

  • Avoid placing sachets adjacent to heating pipes.
  • Position the stick of the sachet in the middle of the pot.
  • Open the shipping box of sachets directly in the crop.
  • Separate sachets by tearing along the perforations.

Storage and Transport:

  • Keep sachets out of direct sunlight.
  • Transport and store at 59-68°F until ready to use.
  • Use within 18 hours of receipt.
  • Do not refrigerate the sachets.
