Amblyseius cucumeris is a predatory mite known for its appetite for thrips larvae. It also consumes broad mites cyclamen mites, and to a lesser extent, spider mites. Its cost-effectiveness makes it a highly appealing option for thrips control, particularly in environments where temperatures remain below 85°F.

Description

Amblyseius cucumeris is a beneficial mite species used in pest management strategies, particularly targeting Western Flower Thrips. The formulation is designed to enhance the daily release of predatory mites onto crops. At 75°F, the total development time for Cucumeris mites ranges from 6 to 9 days, aligning well with the lifecycle of Western Flower Thrips.

These predatory mites thrive in temperatures ranging from 66 to 80°F, with an optimal humidity level of 65% to 75%. They primarily feed on the first larval stage (L1) of pests and are not effective against larger larvae or adults.

Instructions for Cucumeris Bulk Bags & Tubes:

  • Keep containers horizontal and cool until use.
  • Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight.
  • Before opening, gently rotate the container to evenly distribute mites in the carrier material.
  • Open each container in the crop when ready for application.
  • DO NOT APPLY DIRECTLY TO FLOWERING PLANTS.
  • Hanging baskets can help ensure mites are applied directly onto plants.
