Thousand Oaks Modern Backyard Scarlett's Landscape, Inc. is excited to share the Thousand Oaks Modern Backyard , which exemplifies our commitment to quality and innovation in landscape design. Located in Thousand Oaks, California, this was designed to offer a tranquil outdoor paradise that captures a modern aesthetic and blends seamlessly with the beautiful natural surroundings. The homeowner envisioned a space that could balance functional and modern design. To help achieve their vision, our team developed a cohesive layout with a multi-level patio consisting of high grade porcelain pavers that offer durability and a modern aesthetic to complement the existing landscape design. The incorporation of custom fire pit, nestled into a seating area, is a great location for gatherings engulfed in warmth, while outdoor lighting improves the space for nighttime use in style. The posed several challenges, including an uneven site that required thoughtful grading work and drainage to ensure proper water flow across the existing landscape and discharged away from the home to alleviate pooling. Our team installed high grade products such our locally sourced stone, and plant types that promote sustainability and drought resistant qualities in the Southern California climate. We intentionally incorporated native plants of bright colored succulents and shrubs that require very low maintenance, not only to enhance the look of the space but also to encourage biodiversity. The outcome is a successful and beautifully designed modern backyard that balances contemporary architecture with the natural environment, which has provided our client a quiet place to relax or entertain. The client was very happy with their landscape as it met the design, purpose and function they had envisioned, adding another space to gather with family.
