Pt Mugu Naval Station Landscaping by Scarlett's Landscape, Inc. Scarlett's Landscape, Inc. recently completed an exciting landscaping at the Pt Mugu Naval Station, a critical military installation located along California's beautiful coastal environment. The was intended to improve the outdoor space while being sensitive to a military installation. We worked to develop a cohesive landscape design that included native vegetation, drought-resistant species, and ornamental grasses that would establish a sustainable, low-maintenance environment. Our scope included the construction of a new irrigation system that effectively conserves water while not sacrificing the lush look and feel. We used quality materials, including decomposed granite pathways, natural stone borders, or mulch, to ensure longevity and appearance. Like most military locations, one of the primary objectives was to accommodate military protocol and security limitations. Our skilled crew was able to work with base personnel to ensure all components of the site were compliant and respectful of each phase of operational requirements. We adjusted the plan to reduce the invasive nature of the required design while providing the same beauty and functionality to the landscape. The end result is a beautiful implementation of color, shade, and function to the enhanced outdoor experience. A beautiful flower bed, shaded sitting area, and new coastal trees will provide a comfortable refuge when personnel and guests at the station want an outdoor plot. The new landscaping will beautify the station and enhance the experience of the outdoor space for personnel and guests who visit the area.
