This is located in a beautiful area serving Belton, Bucyrus, Cleveland, Grandview, Kansas City, Leawood, Lenexa, Loch Lloyd, Olathe, Overland Park, Shawnee Mission, Spring Hill, Stilwell, Prairie Village, and Fairway. This demonstrates our commitment to creating outdoor spaces that combine beauty and design with practicality. The began with a detailed design consultation in which we thoroughly assessed the client’s vision and the existing landscape. The yard was not only lazy but it was hard to drain poorly, so we began the design process using grading and French drains to address drainage. The did a great job of poorly draining landscape and I did not want to be in poor protection. Noteworthy features of this included a patio that was stunningly built from local bluestone creating an elegant outdoor space for people to gather. A custom fire pit was developed in the patio area, and we used natural boulders to create the centerpiece. Drought-resistant plantings created year-round interest with the mix of native perennials and grass that thrived in our climate. The feeling of the yard was enhanced with all mood lighting throughout the landscape which would illuminate pathways and enhance the effect of the beautiful plantings after dusk. This yard also felt like a rustic extension of the house with raised garden beds made out of reclaimed wood and of materials that were formed to serve both the local and recycled community. The result of the was a breathtaking outdoor space that achieved the client’s goals and exceeded expectations. This landscape is much more than just a place to retreat, this space is an extension of the home that melts the indoors with the outdoors and nature with architecture.
