Type: Lakeside Terraced Backyard by: Mirror Lake Designs Reflecting exemplary craftsmanship and artistry from Mirror Lake Designs, the Lakeside Terraced Backyard is set in the heart of The Woodlands. Here we have an example of a gorgeous outdoor design, where beautifully crafted terracing leads down towards a tranquil vista of the waterfront and creates an inviting and useable space. We started with a landscape study of the natural undulations of the land. Incorporating quality materials including local limestone and composite decking, terraced levels were built to add beauty at the same time as perfect drainage and erosion control. Wildflowers and ornamental grasses native to Central Texas decorate each terrace, handpicked for their hardiness and fittability for local pollinators. The Site Part of the ChallengeCrisis also introduced a major engineering challenge because the site itself sloped steeply down to the lakefront. The retaining walls needed to be both practical and aesthetically pleasing to our customer so this was overcome by our talented team and beautifull retaining walls were installed.inline with the natural landscape and cohesively holding the slurry in place. We also laid a custom stone pathway that flows between the terraces, providing a route for visitors to travel down from the top terrace to a small seating area by the lake with a fire pit perfect for evening socials. The result is a stunning backyard that can be used as a place to escape or be entertained with family and friends. The client could not have been happier with the perfect balance of beauty and function, at which Mirror Lake Designs has truly mastered a level of detail. Not only did this add value to the home, it also created a beautiful space to make memories for years to come.
