This was designed for a client in the heart of The Woodlands, providing the person with a compact residential retreat. The home boasts a remarkable, bespoke swimming pool that blends with its environment wonderfully. By employing high-end natural stone as both the pool copinincluding the pool deckingwe can make a seamless transition from water to ground, and increase the overall visual weight. Rich native plantings enclose the setting, with flowering perennials, and screen, through ornamental grasses, encouraging local wildlife. The other main problem we had to overcome was the space available for the pool and landscaping. We were able to maximise the design of the courtyard so that the pool would be the central feature but not the dominant one. We brought in verticality with things like a trellis with climbing vines, which brings height and helps block sight lines. We added a comfortable seating area next to the pool with high-quality, weather resistant furniture for lounging and hosting guests. The soft landscape lighting further enhanced the atmosphere and created an extension of the courtyard that could be appreciated 24/7. Taking only the finest detail into consideration with the materials used designed a gorgeous aesthetic while still keeping eco-friendly. The end product a serene synthesis of nature and opulence.
