About This Project

Outdoor Creative Design For: 'Before & After' At Outdoor Creative Design we specialize in outdoor creative design, transforming outdoor spaces into beautiful landscapes that serve a functional purpose. We call our newest 'Before & After' to show our work history & attention to detail in landscaping all-over the St. Louis area including Affton, Ballwin, Chesterfield & mores! This started with an old, tired yard that had no flow or personality. As you can imagine, it was poorly drained, uneven and without defined areas for entertaining and relaxing. Getting Started: a Comprehensive Site Analysis We started with a detailed site analysis, which enabled us to create a strategic plan that aligned with the homeowner's vision, as well as their way of life. Not wanting all the water to pool in the yard but not wanting to raise the landscape level, we planned a complex French drain system to keep water drained away from the house. And to ensure that the various outdoors were absolutely practical, we graded the ground to create separate spaces for eating, relaxing, and gardening. We designed and built a fabulous paver patio (more on the sustainability of pavers here), using the best materials; and built a custom firepit with seating around it. Carefully placed native plants were used to produce year-round color and texture and ornamental grasses and flowering perennials were used to provide visual interest. We also built a lovely stone path that gently curves through the garden and helps give visitors a glimpse of the vast green scenery. The end result was a serene backyard escape where our clients could enjoy time with guests or a quiet evening after work in what had once been a neglected patch of land.
