The contacts called for a custom-designed patio built of bluestone - a durable and elegant surface for outdoor entertaining. We enhanced the visual landscape of the yard by employing a mix of native plant specimens, including but not limited to ornamental grasses and hydrangeas which grow in our local climate and require little attention. The client was looking to have a sustainable garden, thereby, we employed a rain garden to provide a treatment for stormwater runoff, effectually employing permeable pavers to encourage groundwater re-introduction. Notable challenges included the grading of the existing land as there were contour concerns where the surface was even. Our expert staff graded the land and created tiered flower beds that not only added dimension to the landscape but included a mix of seasonal bloom species. Boulders and natural stone accents were incorporated in the landscape design, aimed at the characteristics of the surrounding landscape and biodiversity, becoming reflective of neighbouring plant specimens to provide landscape cohesion. Ultimately, the outdoor area was spectacular for the client. The balance of functional design with aesthetic appeal made the back yard a welcoming space for relaxation and entertaining. We paid attention to using quality materials to ensure that their outdoor space became a long lasting safehaven for years of enjoyment.
