Pond and Landscape - Greeley, Colorado Located in Greeley, Colorado, the Pond and Landscape by All Terrain Landscaping is a remarkable representation of functionality paired with aesthetic beauty. This effort turned a conventional backyard into a peaceful retreat with a detailed pond as the focal point of the landscape. The pond, built with quality natural stone and sustainable materials, increases the character of the design and creates a calm atmosphere for local wildlife. One of the obstacles addressed in this was the topography of the area. There were many areas of elevation change requiring out-of-the-box design that would ensure drainage occur properly and would not cause erosion. Therefore, the landscape team executed several identifying criteria with tiered planting beds, while still maintaining the overall landscape design. Native species were chosen for their environmental benefits, to withstand the local climate, and to allow for water consumption reduction. There was also a custom stone pathway built leading up to the edge of the pond to compel people to engage with the natural surroundings. Soft outdoor lighting was used to offer light along the pathway, as well as to highlight the pond at night, promoting comfort if one decides to use the space at night. In the end, the client was excited and now has an outdoor living space that is both beautiful and a great space to hang out in. The has a wonderful balance of water feature, native planting, and good design. This backyard feels like a personal sanctuary, thanks to All Terrain Landscaping's quality craftsmanship and care for their clients.
