Georgia Horticulture Landscape This post is part of the Georgia Horticulture a beautiful turn in Cobb and Cherokee path. We embraced the challenge to tone down a residential space by celebrating its natural beauty but at the same time being practical and mindful of sustainability. The combination hardscape and softscape What we did: We built a multi-tiered stone retaining wall out of granite quarried in the area to create depth and beauty to the garden while providing the necessary support to prevent soil erosion. We created a winding flagstone pathway that invites visitors to wander through the gardens and enjoy the views complemented this structure. We chose a colorful mix of native plants (azaleas, gardenias, ornamental grasses, etc.) that look good all year long and require little upkeep to form a lush oasis. In support of the homeowner's efforts towards environmental responsibility, we also installed a drip irrigation system that promotes water efficiency and conservation. During the challenges such as irregular land and already built drainage were faced. The landscape architects employed creative responses such as graded landscaping and rain gardens to improve drainage and avoid flooding. The result is a stunning alfresco area that blends beauty and functionality effortlessly. The client was absolutely delighted with the end result, stating they now have a yard that they can use and the mystical setting our work created. This really highlights the level of dedication and attention to detail that Georgia Horticulture strives for, leaving a beautiful landscape that will serve its community for many years to come.
