House on the Lake House on the Lake Specialists CBA Landscape Architects, LLC is pleased to showcase the harmoniously beautiful 'House on the Lake' , which perfectly fits its New England waterfront. The goal of our design team was to create an outdoor environment that evokes the relaxing spirit of life by the lake while also creating functional spaces for lounging and entertaining. This included a large patio area that was installed using southern bluestone, laid out to form a durable and aesthetically pleasing surface for the outdoor space. To complement this zone, we surrounded this area with all native plantings a collection of local perennial and shrub natives that suit this site and are ideal for plant-insects. The topography of the site also sloped, one of the big challenges we had to overcome. We solved this design problem by creating tiered garden beds that effectively drained while also adding a level of interest while keeping erosion from degrading the site. To soften the elevation change when walking away from the outdoor space, a custom wooden retaining wall was designed and stained to match the home, both in colour and style, providing an attractive transition between the patio and the gardens. We made water features an integral part of the landscape planning; a calm pond with a light cascading stream, whispering a tranquil soundtrack to the outdoor experience. This pond has been created with natural stone edging and aquatic plants that not only make sure that it is aesthetically pleasing but also maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. The end result is a stunning landscape that beautifully reflects the title: House on the Lake. In the end, all the well-thought-out design, high- quality materials, and meticulous craftsmanship were worth it not just as an expansion of a home but as a private enclave. The client said they were over the moon with the results saying the all aligned with their expectations and the right concept of lakeside living.
