The clients for this pursued a stunning transformation from a backyard whose site functions, overall aesthetic, and quality were deficient. Located in Moorestown NJ, this suburban involved an entire back yard landscape renovation and was designed to improve upon and highlight the natural beauty of the home while providing functional outdoor areas for enjoyment and relaxation. Our team responded to the challenging nature of the site to deliver a stunning . The site had a very deep topography with no structure providing any type of drainage for water to travel. Through careful engineering and design the incorporated an elevated grading of the property’s backyard, allowing for not only a greater flow of water the property but an engineered system of tiered garden beds to provide added depth and interest to the overall contour of the back yard. From the beginning of the we utilized locally sourced stone for nearly all of the retaining walls and pathways. The also featured a mix of native plants throughout the yard that offered several distinct functions while maintaining sustainability and providing other ecological services, such as habitat for birds and insects to thrive. The design boasted an impressive inventory of flowering perennials, ornamental grasses, and evergreen shrubs providing year-round color and texture. The centerpiece of the was an original outdoor living area which created a sheer delight! The outdoor living space featured a custom stone built fire pit with natural stone seating to accommodate the needs of family occupying the newly gorgeous backyard and/or entertaining guests. There was an original wood pergola feature with climbing vines spilling their way around the pergola frame, enabling a level of comfort from the hot summer heat while elegantly framing the space where the climbing vines gently adorned the outdoor space. While our team worked on realizing the homeowners' vision of what they were hoping to achieve as a final form from the beginning, throughout the process we maintained communication while observing the unexpected challenges of inclement weather and supply chain issues. Eventually, the was completed. The end result was a beautiful cozy retreat space for relaxation and entertainment for the clients that transformed their property into a wonderful area they had no alternatives for in the past, beyond having witnessed the backyard prior to any landscaping work being done.
