Rainscaping / Rain Gardens by Quiet Village Landscaping Quiet Village Landscaping’s mission is to bring nature together with usefulness. Our latest , 'Rainscaping / Rain Gardens', exemplifies this concept, transforming homes throughout the St. Louis area including Chesterfield, Kirkwood and Town and Country into ecological oasis. This innovative involved designing and building rain gardens to control stormwater runoff while enhancing the visual aspects of the landscape. We first conducted a thorough assessment of each site and determined pace of the rain gardens; we checked the drainage and what kinds of plants could be used. The team chose native plants such as coneflower, black-eyed Susans and ornamental grasses, that met the requirements of adapted plants that prosper under wet conditions and also attract desirable wildlife. Some of the obstacles included: different soils as well as proper target grading in different spots to maintain water flow. After careful planning and execution, we utilized permeable pavers and natural boulders to create an functional yet aesthetically pleasing garden. We also built a good underdrainage system with an emphasis on water retention so the plants did not drown. In conclusion, clients were satisfied with results; the overall transformed the yard into a beautiful, sustainable landscape that stops flooding and provided stunning visual interest. Our work quality and sustainable practices are also what made this successful. The homeowner is excited her new rain garden which is equally beautiful and resilient after rain, and that she is on the way to ecological garden that is filled with beauty.
