Before & After Pet Space | Heights Fresh Lawn Turf is pleased to share the 'Heights Before & After Pet Area - Landscape Transformation', where we took the outdoor space in the Greater Houston area to a new level. The goal was to formulate a safe, practical, and beautiful area for pets to be able to functional fashionably as well. They had a typical yard with no real areas defined, some rocks, no great surfaces for animals to play on. We carefully designed a plan utilizing artificial, pet-friendly turf that would eradicate muddy patches and allow our family to enjoy a lush, green space at home all year-round! We used quality synthetic grass to keep the area looking good and low-maintenance, handling paws with no problems. Our biggest problem was slumping areas that would trap water something that would really make the space less usable in the eyes of the pets. Our professionals installed a complete drainage system using perforated pipes and layers of gravel that redirected water outside the pet area. That innovation helped keep the space dry and functional even in the rainy season in Houston. To make the pet area more appealing, we installed decorative stone borders that both contained the area as well as blended into the surroundings. The addition of native plants added visual interest and a splash of green without posing a poisoning hazard to pets. We finished the look with simple soft landscaping elements, such as low maintenance, low toxicity shrubs in flower beds (I need to photograph for you the flower beds in full bloom!) that strike a balance between beauty and utility. The finished product was very pleasing to the client, who now has a functional, colorful pet area that not only enlivens the outdoor space but also aids their furry friends' quality of life. They said they were absolutely thrilled with the makeover and their new pet space was a great new family area for spending playful afternoons together.
