This landscape included a beautiful patio constructed of natural stone and completely surrounded the pond to create an inviting escape for relaxing and entertaining. The stone patio was designed and built using locally sourced, superior-quality flagstone. Our team worked diligently to design a patio to match the surrounding landscape by selecting the best colors and stone attributes to blend with the other vegetation in the area. One of the challenges of the existing area was to make the elevations work to their advantage; our professional landscaping team was able to make the slope of the property look natural yet create a flat surface. The wall was a custom made stone retaining wall which added a little more structural integrity and allowed for an aesthetically pleasing appeal as well. Not only does it enrich the visual appeal of the patio but it also prevents any erosion and maintains the surrounding area, instead of it being a mud pit around the pond. To top off the overall look and feel of the natural stone patio we included softscape, planting some native plants and ornamental grasses to attract local animals, and of course, color for different seasons. Overall, this was the ultimate oasis for their client to relax, entertain, and listen to the calming sound of the water. The combination of quality materials, quality craftsmanship, and aesthetically pleasing design created a usable patio space that is an emblazed piece of art in a person’s landscape.
