Preparation of the included the selection of diverse native plants. The client wanted a Clematis Montana as the showpiece, since it is a vigorous grower with beautiful blooms. We combined this with a variety of perennials and ornamental grasses to layer the landscape and promote interest through all seasons of the year. High-quality, organic soil additives made sure every plant started in the best possible condition. One of the challenges of this was the existing grade and uneven landscape of the property. We determined that a series of terraced beds, with local stone retaining walls would not only stabilize the landscape but is also a sustainable and rustic addition to the property. A drip irrigation system was incorporated to provide convenience to the water system, provide minimum water usage to maintain the lush garden atmosphere that the client desired, and prevent a lot of labor efforts in watering. The result was a beautiful garden that left the client delighted, and we were ecstatic to hear that a variety of pollinators started visiting their new garden - improving the overall ecological health of the area. The Clematis Montana planted on the stone walls redirected attention, cascading spectacles of color, and the surrounding plants create a beautiful and quiet atmosphere to sit and enjoy your garden.
