Garden Path

Garden Path by Landscape Workshop Located in the heart of Lexington, Landscape Workshop is excited to share the 'Garden Path' - a beautiful transformation to elevate the outdoor space. This residential landscaping served not only Lexington, but also the geographical context of Lexington-Fayette, Georgetown, Sadieville, Stamping Ground, Nicholasville, Paris, Winchester, Midway, Versailles, Berea, and Richmond. Initially, we met with the client to discuss their vision within a detailed consultation. The client was looking for a garden pathway that was soothing to the senses and inviting. Our job was to create a unified design that invented an aesthetic appeal and appealed to the already established landscaping. As might be expected, we used high-quality materials to realize an inviting pathway. The bluestone pavers, locally sourced and engraved with natural colors were chosen for beauty and durability. The natural stone pavers were placed to create an unscripted winding pathway, guiding guest away from the established beds of lively perennials and ornamental grasses. We utilized warm, ambient lighting along the pathway so that guest could enjoy the benefits of the garden during daylight hours and even after dark, while we all be honest - the garden is even more beautiful after dark. The slope of the patio created a fun challenge that we welcomed. A graded slope was created which also needed drainage to allow for additional water to run off and not accumulate under the patio. We determined that we should use a drainage system that not only protects the patio, but also nurtures the surrounding plantings. Our team delivered. The completed was a beautiful garden pathway that delivered both use and elegance. Our client was excited to show us their garden in its new way - the new path continued to invite service, simply wowed parents, and engaged the established plants in the previous yearly cycles.
