Recently we finished this awesome retaining wall in Plymouth, for our clients who were looking for an erosion control solution, but also a decorative element for their garden. The began with a comprehensive site analysis where our team identified several challenges such as soil types and a significant drainage requirement. For the retaining wall, we went for some durable natural stone ensuring the wall stays around for many ages. It not only feels like part of the landscape but also helps add a rustic touch that can take the property to a whole other level. We dug down deep, ensuring a proper lift to create a solid footing and included a weeping tile to prevent any pooling behind the wall. Although we had to deal with uneven ground and the existing roots of neighbouring trees, our trained landscapers found creative ways to overcome these challenges. The end product is stunning tiered retaining wall that both made it visually appealing and was functional for controlling soil erosion. The final building was tall, with modern lines and a natural stone facade that idealistically matched the brand the client had in mind. In addition to strictly providing its main function, the wall becomes a stunning focal point in the garden, providing more seating capacity and serving as a stunning background for outdoor events.
