The landscape design utilized an impressive selection of native plants intentionally chosen for success in the Low Country coastal environment. Drought-resistant selections, like Southern Wax Myrtle and Butterfly Bush, were included to contribute to biodiversity and minimize the need for additional water sources. Our team of designers and installation specialists were able to create layers of gardens, with a variety of flower beds, green spaces, and ornamental grasses to provide a beautiful and inviting space. One of the most significant challenges faced on the Hatfield Residence was the property’s slope. To overcome this, Verdant Enterprises created terraced garden beds using natural stone retaining walls. These walls accommodate the slope while providing an elegant and natural look that complements the home features. The stone was sourced locally for sustainability and connection to the surrounding environment. For an enhanced outdoor experience, we designed a custom patio space using durable, weather-resistant pavers to create an inviting outdoor living area that seamlessly blended with existing plants and natural features. This space provides a perfect gathering place for family and friends, where you can enjoy views of the garden and surroundings. The sound of a water feature also provides a calming atmosphere for relaxation while simultaneously attracting local wildlife to interact with. The end result is a stunning landscape designed to address the architecture of the Hatfield Residence, while also honoring the unique geography of the area.
