The Gray Wolf project represents a thoughtful transformation of a living space tailored to the unique preferences of a retired couple who relocated to Grants Pass from Southern California. With no existing living room furniture or decor to retain, the focus was on creating a warm, inviting environment that resonated with the wife’s desire for feminine yet understated furnishings. The design process began with a deep dive into her aesthetic inspirations, drawing from a curated selection of magazine images that showcased elegant, timeless pieces. Custom-built furniture played a pivotal role in achieving the desired ambiance. Two club chairs and two small wing chairs were meticulously crafted alongside two sofas, all upholstered in fabrics that perfectly aligned with her vision. This bespoke approach ensured that each piece not only complemented the overall design but also provided comfort and functionality. The strategic placement of an elegant pair of uniquely shaped sofa tables beneath the windows flanking the fireplace added a sophisticated touch, enhancing the room's architectural features while providing practical surfaces for decor and lighting. One of the most significant challenges encountered during the project was sourcing artwork that would effectively fill the expansive space above the fireplace. Initially, independent pieces proved inadequate, failing to resonate with the couple’s vision. After careful consideration and discussions, a mural was proposed—a vibrant celebration of the couple's new home in the picturesque Rogue Valley. This artistic element not only served as a stunning focal point but also infused the living room with a sense of place and personal connection. The outcome of the Gray Wolf project is a beautifully curated living room that seamlessly blends elegance with comfort, reflecting the couple's personal style while honoring the beauty of their new surroundings. This space stands as a testament to thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and the joy of creating a true home.
