Dry Creek This is a true testament to the quality of craftsmanship and innovation we provide on a daily basis, welcome to the 'Dry Creek' landscaping presented to you by GALA Services Inc. This ranch , an example of lifestyle design, was designed to accentuate the natural landscape of Rancho Santa Fe whilst keeping sustainability at the heart of this . 'Dry Creek' showcases a dry creek bed that has been purposely designed gently winding through the landscape using natural river rocks and pebbles from the local area. This encourages local ecosystem diversity while also making a very effective drainage solution; rainwater runoff from urban areas is prevented, stabilizing the soil and reducing erosion. This feature posed a challenge to our talented team, as we needed to not only make it functional and optimal, we needed to do this in a sloped terrain! We chose drought-tolerant, Southern California climate-appropriate flora to reduce water usage and maintenance based on native plants and xeriscaping principles. We planted a wide array of California lilac, sage and ornamental grasses to provide color and texture, for interest throughout the seasons. In addition, a custom stone pathway was designed to guide visitors through the garden to experience the tranquil atmosphere. The natural flagstone path was charming while also being practical and helping the path blend with its natural surroundings. The end result of the 'Dry Creek' was far and away what our client was expecting. It speaks to the beauty of California yet in such a harmonious way, combining functional design, quality materials and intentional plants all being a beautiful select mix of some of the more vibrant beauty Californians’ have to offer.
