Landscaping at the Salvation Army by Sublime Water Gardens Sublime Water Gardens recently finished an exciting landscaping for the Salvation Army, located just south of our service areas of Argyle, Flower Mound, and Fort Worth. The purpose of the was to improve and enhance the outdoor environment to create a welcoming atmosphere that reflect the community’s spirit of service, support, and fellowship. From installing a lovely water feature to beautifying the overall landscape, the included a variety of features. Designed to be a focus of calming energy and tranquility, Sublime Water Gardens used natural stones and sustainable materials to construct a spectacular pond that partnered great with the surrounding landscape. Native plantings used not only to beautify the landscape, but also to be durable, low maintenance, and pleasing all year long. While undertaking this , one of the most challenging components was the unlevel site terrain. Our team worked effectively to simply grade the site to, in effect, merge and create a flow where the natural terrains could blend, including permeable paver pathways to accommodate flow and free absorption of water to have easy tenant access through the site. Guided by the pathways and strategically placed shrubs and plants, the native landscaping assisted in the overall beauty to help draw everything together. The addition of flower beds of flowering seasonal blooms (and the blossoms of the native plantings) can also entice local pollinators, enhancing the property’s overall biodiversity simply, and in ways, that the property had not had previously. Accordingly, drought resistant plants were essentially included in the landscaping to further demonstrate sustainability approaches, limiting the need for water and maintaining a fuller and green landscape. The end state of the is a scenic landscape that the Salvation Army staff loves and is in line with what they had wanted and envisioned, and the visitors and community members all enjoy. The embodies a serene outdoor space with thoughtful focus on a harmonious balance of water feature, plants, and plant selections for additional functionality of hardscaping.
