About This Project

The Heights by Acer Design Studio Located in the stunning beauty of Cape Cod is ‘The Heights’, a labour of love from Acer Design Studio who continue to impress us with their landscaping expertise. In collaboration with our discerning clients, this final displays the balance of nature and artistry, creating an impressive outdoor oasis on an ordinary lot line. Since the start of the , there has been a large consultation to see what the client wants. The fact that the site was sloped posed a very unique design challenge of having a functional space yet still visually stunning. We incorporated locally harvested, quality stone to form over-sized multi-layered retaining walls to supple the landscape and create an earthy, homey feel. In addition to these walls, there were a set of terrace gardens that were planted to native plants to ensure sustainability and low maintenance. In order to experience more outdoor living and entertaining, we decided to add a beautiful patio area comprised of a composite decking material that will stand strong in all types of weather with relative comfort and ease. A fire pit with seating invites for some nights below the stars. This was part of an advanced irrigation system we set up to provide all the plants with the right amounts of water without wasted drop. Important in our design was the use of lighting, and we have incorporated LED fixtures that are energy efficient and accentuate the beauty of the landscape after dark. Finishing touches included ornamental trees and shrubs that not only framed the property nicely, but also offered useful privacy. This resulted in a ultimately cohesive outdoor space which the clients had envisioned for themselves, where form meets function. Not simply a landscape, 'The Heights' is a place to escape, unwind, and enjoy for generations to come. We are based out of Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and the South Shore, where the dreams of a lush landscape begin to come to life.
