About This Project

Planting Playground by Acer Design Studio 【プロジェクト名】植え植えランド™ The 'Planting Playground' by Acer Design Studio has totally reimagined outdoor spaces in an ordinary backyard on Cape Cod, MA into a unique yard of delight and reflection. Inspired by the natural aspects of the Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and South Shore environments, this adventurous landscaping The native plantings, local and sustainable materials, and usable exterior spaces created a vibrant yet functional . We chose an array of colourful perennials, hardy shrubs, and ornamental grasses suitable for the coastal climate. We designed an environment using local stone for the steps and seating areas to maintain a smaller physical footprint to do less harm to the setting. Perhaps the biggest hurdle was the sandy soil and proper drainage of the area. Landscape architects employed rain gardens and permeable pavers to add visual interest, and more importantly, water. The outcome was a whimsical yet tranquil space that blended natural tones with contemporary finishes. The end result consisted of a fun children play area, surrounded by trees and shrubbery, a family bonfire area with fire pit, and paths that gave you a touring feel. Our thrilled client stated, "It was so fulfilling to see your design come to life and your craftsmanship of the quality of ideas you put into the execution idea by idea, surface by surface".
