The began with the steep hillside that made accessibility an issue and began to suffer from neglect. To solve this challenge our talented team created a series of terraced levels supported by strong, dry-stacked stone walls sourced from a local quarry adding beauty and strength to the design. On each of these terraces, a variety of drought-resistant native plants that can survive on relatively low amounts of water were planted to make the space sustainable and to complement the beauty of the area we are located in California. Most noteworthy of the final design is a bold new path of reclaimed wood pavers that guides visitors through a variety of ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs that explode with brilliant colors through their seasonal cycles. This pathway not only greets you with open arms, but suggests an effortless marriage of utility and art as well. Other elements consisted of custom seat areas manufactured from organic materials, creating a peaceful area to unwind, and for outdoor functions. Ambient lighting integrated into the long pathway, showcased the landscaping, highlighting the textures and colors, providing a warm glow that brings the outdoors to life in the evening. The end result is a stunning front yard with a hillside re-entry that far surpasses client hopes and dreams. It naturally not only made the property look much more organized from the facade view, but made an encouragement of an inviting walk for residents & guests alike.
