About This Project

King's Castle is a delightful transformation of an early 90s colonial-style home that beautifully marries modern functionality with the charm of its original design. Our clients, having recently moved in, recognized the potential within the unique features of the home but were faced with the need for significant renovations to create a space that suited their lifestyle. The project began in 2016 with a vision to utilize underutilized areas, specifically repurposing part of the garage, to expand the kitchen and introduce a welcoming mudroom entryway. The design choices reflected a commitment to maintaining the essence of the home's architectural style while infusing it with contemporary elegance. The expanded kitchen serves as the heart of the home, featuring custom cabinetry that echoes the colonial aesthetic, combined with modern amenities to enhance functionality. We selected high-quality materials, including rich hardwood flooring and durable quartz countertops that not only elevate the kitchen's elegance but also provide lasting durability for everyday use. The thoughtful layout ensures ample space for culinary creativity, with an island that doubles as a casual dining area, perfect for family gatherings. In addition to the kitchen, the new mudroom entryway provides a seamless transition from the outdoors to the interior, complete with built-in storage solutions that keep the space organized and clutter-free. This area was designed with practicality in mind, featuring a bench for easy shoe removal and hooks for coats, catering to the busy lifestyles of our clients. The craftsmanship throughout the project is evident in the details, from the intricate tile work to the carefully selected fixtures that complement the overall design. The outcome is a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, resulting in a home that not only meets the needs of our clients but also enhances their enjoyment of their living space. King’s Castle stands as a testament to how thoughtful renovations can breathe new life into a beloved home while honoring its original character.
