Chester Front Entryway Makeover A lackluster approach turned into a gorgeous focal point that entices guests indoors. Our work included a well-balanced mix of planting beds as well as some low maintenance hardscape materials to bind all of the layers with the existing architecture. First we demolished the old concrete walkway that was very dated, and installed new natural stone pavers for a timeless, beautiful look. The colors of the stone are rich and complement the exterior of the home, yet it provides a slip-resistant surface for safety. We assembled a palette of native ornamental grasses and perennial flowers to increase seasonal interest at the entryway while requiring minimal upkeep. The colourful texture that these plants bring along with creating a sustainable environment allowing local wildlife will thrive. The site had its challenges an existing slope and drainage issues so we used a gentle grading solution as well as added a feature to direct excess water away from the house, a decorative dry creek bed. The end result is a cohesive entryway to charm and functionality. The result was a super happy client, who now has a beautiful entry way to their house.
