The Nyack project involved a transformative renovation of a 1980s kitchen into a modern culinary haven that reflects both style and functionality, tailored to the unique lifestyle of the clients. Passionate cooks and professional dancers, they sought a space that not only facilitated seamless meal preparation but also embodied an aesthetic that resonated with their artistic sensibilities. The design choices were carefully curated to create a harmonious flow between the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring an inviting atmosphere suitable for entertaining guests. The cabinetry showcases a sophisticated dual-tone palette, featuring deep gray "structure" doors for the lower cabinets, complemented by "grayge" (a blend of gray and beige) upper cabinets. This color scheme was thoughtfully selected to enhance the contemporary feel of the space while maintaining a warm and inviting ambiance. The backsplash tile serves as a perfect marriage of these two colors, tying the design together and adding a touch of elegance. In terms of modern appliances, the kitchen is equipped with high-end features including a GE Advantium oven, a Sub Zero refrigerator, a Bosch dual fuel range, and a Bosch dishwasher, all chosen to elevate the cooking experience. The use of porcelain tiles throughout the kitchen and dining areas not only adds durability but also enhances the overall aesthetic, providing a chic backdrop for both culinary activities and social gatherings.
