The Vogel Great Room project represents a transformative journey, breathing new life into a 1960s ranch house in Dayton, OH. The client envisioned a space that would eliminate the outdated “dark tunnel” feeling characteristic of the original hallway leading from the garage. By opening up the foyer, the design allows for a seamless visual connection between the entrance, dining room, and reading room, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests as they enter the home. In aligning the kitchen and dining room into a cohesive environment, the space was reimagined to encourage interaction and flow, essential for entertaining. The careful planning and execution ensured that both areas harmoniously blend, fostering an atmosphere where family and friends can gather comfortably. To elevate the aesthetic appeal, the dated carpet and tile flooring were replaced with contemporary light wood flooring, which not only enhances the brightness of the room but also establishes a modern foundation that complements the beige walls.
