Summary: Greenbush House by Seoane Landscape Design Located in the tranquil area of Hingham, this landscaping of the Greenbush House reflects the creative work of Seoane Landscape Design. This transformed a simple outdoor space into an inviting haven for relaxation and entertainment. In the design, we combined a selection of native plants that flourish in the local environment and are environmentally friendly as they support the biodiversity of the surrounding area. A key element of the property was a beautiful stone terrace using natural bluestone available from local quarries, which is both durable and elegant for outdoor gatherings. Alongside the patio is a custom-built fire pit for the homeowner, that will entice friends and family to gather around the fireside at night. Our team had challenges to overcome with the outdoor space, most notably, the uneven ground, and limited sunlight in some areas of the backyard. To address these issues, we devised tiered garden beds on the landscapes elevation, and used a combination of organic compost and high-quality topsoil appropriate for growing conditions. Additionally, to ensure green space all year, we strategically arranged shade-tolerant plants like ferns and hostas in the shady areas of the property. To add interest and functionality, we installed a winding path with reclaimed bricks to lead visitors through the lush gardens, and we attempted to be as environmentally responsible as possible in our product selection. We also considered outdoor lighting as an aesthetic appeal; we featured existing architectural components of the outdoor living space by showcasing and accentuating them with ambient lighting - and creating a beautiful and inviting atmosphere at night. This finished product is a beautiful landscape that enhances the curb appeal of the property, while fulfilling the clients vision of an oasis-like retreat at their residence.
