Side Yard Garden | Falls Church City, VA At Native Plant Landscape Design Corp, we recently finished a significant landscaping in Falls Church City, VA. The focus of the was on transforming a somewhat underused side yard space into a beautiful and functional garden space that worked harmoniously with the architecture of the home (and the neighborhood). The garden space adds curb appeal to the property and provides an outdoor space for the owners to relax and enjoy the green outdoors. The included many native plants chosen both for their ecological benefits but also low-maintenance. We included mostly perennials and some seasonal native annuals, in addition, vibrant colors and ornamental grasses for added visual structure and seasonal interest in additions to garden space. The use of local materials (natural stone pathway and reclaimed wood for the raised beds) provides a seamless connection to the natural context around the home but also the aspect of sustainability to the . The main challenge we faced on this was the lumpy/humped terrain of the yard - this was easily addressed through an ecological gardening approach with tiered laying of the garden space which maximizes the amount of planting area but also improves drainage for establishing plant health growth benefits. Our team of professionals also graded soil, incorporated organic compost, and installed a drip irrigation system optimizing the gardens irrigation system without any waste. The result of the was an exceptional space that delighted the client. It met their intention of creating a personal oasis for themselves right at their doorstep to enjoy or entertain. The client said it was gorgeous and praising how it brought quite a bit of enjoyment already not to mention local wildlife! At Native Plant Landscape Design Corp we are very proud of our high standards in craftsmanship and client satisfaction, and this is one example of many that on all levels was a satisfying and a charmed to add natural beautiful spaces to homes around Northern Virginia.
