The "Windows of Wonder" project was a remarkable endeavor that transformed the window treatments in a uniquely styled home overlooking downtown Boise. Tasked by a fellow designer, the aim was to create an elegant yet functional aesthetic that would enhance the home's contemporary architecture while providing practical benefits. Through thoughtful design choices, I opted for ceiling-to-floor, ripple fold silk drapery panels that not only add luxury but also create a dramatic focal point in the living space. The selection of silk as the primary material was deliberate, chosen for its rich texture and ability to catch the light beautifully. The ripple fold style was selected to facilitate graceful movement and a soft, flowing appearance, enhancing the overall elegance of the room. The panels were meticulously crafted to ensure precise measurements, allowing them to cascade perfectly from the ceiling to the floor, accentuating the height of the windows while framing the breathtaking views of downtown Boise. Throughout the design process, careful attention was paid to the color palette and overall harmony with the home's interi. The silk drapery panels serve not only to elevate the aesthetic but also to soften the hard lines of the architecture, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The outcome is a seamless integration of form and function; these window treatments provide the desired privacy while allowing natural light to filter gently into the space, further enhancing the ambiance. The project, completed in 2016, has proven that window treatments are essential elements in interior design that should never be overlooked. They frame beautiful views, soften walls, and provide a grand statement that can transform any space.
