About This Project

Pergola design + Installation | Gaia Creations We are Gaia Creations, where we took a typical backyard in Chico and created an unique outdoor experience through the design & build of a custom pergola. Designed for a family from Butte County, the consists of a beautiful wooden building made from sustainably grown cedar, as well as a durable and natural-looking structure that blends perfectly with the scenery. The first step in our design process is sitting down together, hearing exactly what our clients had in mind for their outdoor environment. They wanted a space to retreat to, to entertain, and needed plants that would climb something beautiful but take up less ground space. We drew plans for a more complex design, with integrated lighting and a well-planned seating area, which is perfect for gatherings. Our backyard sloped up to the right, which presented a couple issues. My amazing team worked around this by creating a solid base that will hold all of that weight for a long, long time but also allowing proper drainage so there is nowhere for water to pool. The process of installation needed accuracy and skill (We carefully assembled every part so that they would be structurally sound and visually appealing). And there you have a stunning pergola that not only acts as a centerpiece in the garden but also creates a functional outdoor living room. This was well received by our clients, and they appreciated the quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into each piece (like any Gaia Creations piece typically gets) Decorated with climbing vines and ambient lighting, the pergola has become the favorite getaway place, for gatherings under the starlight at nights. Such a defines our quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction approach and has made us a go-to for landscaping all over Chico, Cohasset, Hamilton City, Nord, Vina, and Butte County.
