About This Project

Stairways by Garcia Patios and Landscaping, Inc. A beautiful outdoor living space designed by Garcia Patios and Landscaping, Inc, the 'Stairways' saw a steep, unattractive hillside in the lovely town of Annapolis made over into a stunning outdoor space. This expanded landscaping centered around the construction of elegant, functional stairways to improve accessibility and contribute to property aesthetics. We built stairways made from high quality natural stone pavers which we then complemented with the surrounding landscape. Every single step was carefully mapped out for safety and comfort, offering non-slip surfaces and lights down the way so you can easily see where you're going even at night. Strong retaining walls of mixed timber and stone contained the erosion while also forming terraced planting beds that overflowed with colour. Designing for uneven terrain was one of our greatest challenges. We constructed bespoke drainage systems to address water pooling and maintain stairway integrity, designed by our expert team. We also used native plants that are well-adapted to the climate where we live so that they can be sustainable and need the least care. The end product is a beautiful multi-level staircase that winds its way through foliage as it connects the visitors to the home and the house to the home garden. This was able to realize the clients vision not only in functional space but also in the amount of curb appeal and overall value to the property.
