St. Andrews by Newton Landscape Group Located in Baker, Louisiana, the St. Andrews showcases the skill and artistry of Newton Landscape Group. Initially, our team was challenged with a severe slope that was not conducive to recreational enjoyment in the backyard area. Ultimately, the careful design and planning allowed us to introduce tiered landscaping which improved the site's visual appeal while ensuring space was maximized. It features elegant, tiered, dry-stack retaining walls built with locally sourced natural stone; a very appealing way to blend the new structure and shape with the existing nature, while also providing structural integrity. A highlight of the St. Andrews is the custom-designed patio area, built with high-performance porcelain pavers that will not tarnish or wear over time. This space now serves as the perfect gathering area for family and friends to come together, featuring a built-in fire pit and an outdoor kitchen, built with performance durable materials that are low-maintenance. Surrounding the patio are beautiful native plants and ornamental grasses we planted which thrive in the local climate and offer life and colors throughout the seasons. Additionally, our talented crew engaged in efforts to remedy the site’s poor drainage by providing an advanced irrigation system which promotes healthy plant growth while conserving water. Completing the look, we also added a charming meandering pathway with solar lights to help guest navigate the site, while also providing visual appeal, safety, and security through the evenings. In sum, the St. Andrews met the required goals for various needs and aspirations of the homeowner's expectations. Further, it transformed the property into a beautifully serene site that embodies elegance and function.
