Chancellorsville by Newton Landscape Group Located in the heart of the Baton Rouge area, this is a true representation of the quality and craftsmanship that Newton Landscape Group has become known for. The overall landscape design of Chancellorsville is a combination of aesthetic beauty, along with practical application. Our team painstakingly selected diverse native plants to create a sustainable ecosystem that thrives in this climate and requires little maintenance. The landscape includes graceful stone paths made from local flagstone that gently carries visitors through lush exterior areas. Generously-spaced ornamental grasses and a selection of flowering perennials add color and delightful visual texture to both sides of the flagstone paths. One of the largest challenges to navigate during this was the topography of the property which included both shaded and sun-drenched areas. Our landscape architects addressed the variable topographic challenges by designing two tiered planting beds increase aesthetics as well as positive drainage/soil health all while using native plantings. Furthermore, we installed a state-of-the-art irrigation system to utilize water responsibly, yet sustainably, to keep the landscape incredibly lush. In the end, Chancellorsville was a beautiful outdoor space for relaxation and enjoyment. Custom seating made of natural wood provided areas for family and friends to gather, while the soft lighting creates an experience that enhances the transition from day to night. The clients commented how wonderful it was to have their outdoor living special, and personal because they were a part of the overall design and process. Chancellorsville took place over many months, however through the aesthetic enjoyment and the value added to the property, along with the enrichment of their families lives; our next will always be, and already is, a completed to the great satisfaction of the client.
