Coastal Getaway Coastal Getaway, designed by Louis Fusco Landscape Architects, is an exceptional landscape upgrade that was executed to perfection seamlessly integrating coastal charm with luxurious living outdoors. Situated along a beautiful shoreline, the design exemplifies the relaxed elegance of coastal living while considering the many challenges of a seaside site. The design concept integrates a contemporary mix of native coastal species that are salt and wind tolerant in order to promote sustainability and low maintenance. A selection of lush grasses, perennial flowering plants, and evergreen trees were selected to provide year-round beauty, privacy, and wind protection. The design also features inviting spaces with natural stone paths leading to a custom-built fire pit area ideal for evening conversation. High quality, weather resistant finishes, including teak decking and marine grade aluminum furniture create a beautiful and durable outdoor experience. One of the challenges was managing the natural drainage of the site, which was overcome through bioswale installation, both beautifying the landscape and contributing to improved water management. The end result is an eco-friendly environment, which has integrated function and beauty. The end result has exceeded the clients expectations, transforming their outdoor living zone into a lounge area, perfect for relaxing and entertaining.
