About This Project

The Johnson's Family Room project in Fuquay Varina, NC, transformed an ordinary space into a warm and inviting environment tailored for family living and entertaining. Inspired by a stunning piece of artwork displayed over a stylish sideboard, the design sought to harmoniously integrate the artwork's colors into the overall palette of the room without allowing them to dominate the space. A custom-made sectional couch, upholstered in a high-performance fabric in a silver taupe hue, serves as the central seating element. This choice was particularly thoughtful, as the fabric is not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical for a family with children, ensuring ease of cleaning and durability. Complementing the sectional, an accent wall painted in a sophisticated charcoal gray adds depth and warmth, while two storage cabinets crafted in neutral wood provide both functionality and visual balance. To enhance the room's entertaining capabilities, two accent chairs were added along with a nesting table, creating an inviting conversation area. The selection of a coffee table that echoes the design of the storage cabinets further ties the room together, offering a cohesive look. The artwork remains the focal point of the room, beautifully highlighted by a striking green sideboard positioned directly beneath it, elegantly framing the artistic centerpiece. Additionally, the breakfast area was furnished with a contemporary round dining table, accompanied by leather chairs in a rich camel color, which not only complements the room's overall design but also adds a touch of sophistication. The combination of thoughtful design choices, quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail culminates in a family room that is both functional and stylish, perfectly embodying the essence of home for the Johnson family. The collaboration resulted in a space that not only meets the practical needs of family life but also provides a visually appealing backdrop for cherished memories.
