The is situated within the heart of Louisville and faced many site challenges including a sloped and undulating site, existing trees with a preservation requirement and an inherent need to be perceived as timeless and permanent. Our clients wanted to add beauty to their home but also wanted to complement the natural beauty of the surrounding area; a challenge that we accepted using a combination of native plants, ornamental grasses and perennials to create a sustainable and attractive garden with seasonal interest all year long. An elegant route of regional sourced flagstone winds its way throughout the lawn through a person visiting whilst offering a tough and also beautiful surface area. So our talented team was tasked with tackling erosion control due to the angle of slope, and created terraced planting beds using natural boulders for both stabilization and aesthetics. The strategic use of low-voltage, integrated LED lighting showcasing landscape features by night create an inviting atmosphere. The end product is a perfect mix of aesthetic and practicality with greenery lining the entrance and ushering tours in to their little oasis of calm. We were pleased to receive enthusiastic feedback from the happy client, who mentioned the quality of the in the design and how naturally the hardscaping and softscaping components blended together to create a beautiful landscape that complements their home.
