The TS Jones Residence in Steamboat Springs, CO, stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of historical reverence and contemporary living. Conceived in 2017, the project was born from the collective vision of the Owners, Architect, and Builder, resulting in an extraordinary home that respects the local vernacular while embracing modernity. The design captures the essence of “Old Town” with its gabled roof forms, traditional clapboard siding, and understated double-hung window openings, which pay homage to the region's architectural heritage. However, the vision extended beyond mere replication of the past. The Jones family recognized the evolution of Old Town's architectural fabric, where contemporary forms and materials have found their rightful place alongside traditional styles. This duality inspired the creation of a residence that not only honors the history of the area but also reflects the dynamic lifestyle of today’s families. The thoughtful integration of modern elements—such as expansive glazing, sleek lines, and innovative materials—ensures the home is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing.
