About This Project

The Yogi Retreat, affectionately known as the Zen Den, is a serene sanctuary located alongside the tranquil Soda Creek in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This project involved transforming a small infill lot into a harmonious oasis that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding natural landscape. Our design team embraced the challenge of this unique space by considering both the architectural elements of the house and the inherent beauty of the land. The design philosophy centered around creating a calming environment that fosters inner peace and mindfulness, allowing guests to truly connect with nature. To enhance the experience of tranquility, the layout features a thoughtfully designed walkway that connects the yoga studio to the main house, offering breathtaking, uninterrupted views of the flowing creek. This pathway not only guides visitors but also serves as a visual corridor that encapsulates the essence of outdoor living, bringing nature directly into the heart of the retreat. The use of large, strategically placed windows throughout the property allows natural light to flood the interior while framing picturesque views of the creek and surrounding flora. In terms of materials, we prioritized sustainability and aesthetics, selecting locally sourced timber and stone that reflect the region's natural palette. Our craftsmanship is evident in the bespoke cabinetry and custom fixtures, which were meticulously crafted to enhance the retreat's minimalist and inviting ambiance. The bathrooms, designed with both functionality and luxury in mind, feature elegant finishes and calming colors, creating a spa-like atmosphere that encourages relaxation. The completed Yogi Retreat stands as a testament to our commitment to quality and innovation, offering a space where individuals can retreat from the chaos of daily life. It embodies a perfect blend of modern design and natural elements, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the serene environment, ultimately achieving the inner peace they seek.
