Ranch BungalowManhattan Beach First peek into the newly finished landscaping transformation of the Ranch Bungalow in beautiful Manhattan Beach. This represents our dedication to working with a coastal aesthetic while finding a creative approach to maintaining applicable standards for quality construction. The design includes a mix of California native plants, drought-tolerant succulents, and greenery to attain a colorful but eco-friendly outdoor condition. We cleverly used natural stone paths with wooden decking that create a seamless transition between the indoors and outdoors. Reclaimed wood is not only functional and rustic but also forwards the eco-focused theme this exemplifies. Amongst the many challenges we encountered was the sandy soil synonymous with coastal regions that required planning for appropriate drainage and soil enhancement to keep the planting alive. These challenges only made us more determined to find ways to tackle them all heads on, and with a bit of advanced planning and a comprehensive drip irrigation system, we were able to create a healthy, year-round landscape. The end product is a peaceful oasis with a fire pit, built for family gatherings, and a seating area with blooming plants and greenery. The result was an outdoor area that truly complemented the clients lifestyle and incorporated an appropriate language of coastal gardens and the client was very happy with the outcome.
